“Fitness for me is not just about looking good. It means having strength and endurance to navigate the stress of life, disease,  and having energy to also enjoy it.
Although radiology has been my work life, my passion for fitness came from a very young age.
In my 20s I started by training in group classes and was hooked not only by how my body changed but most of all how it felt. I then also taught aerobics at Nautilus for many years. Remember leg warmers and
step class ?

So even when motherhood, work and life became the dominant force in my life and I let go of my teaching side gig, staying fit was always important.  I have fallen in and out of love with the various fitness trends but when 2020 came along and shook up the whole world,  I again, during lockdown, realized that fitness also helped my mental health.

So I retrained myself and started teaching again at Crossfit CapOp.

What I especially loved was teaching proper movement patterns. When you are young or just starting off , sure you can pick up weights, join the latest hot fitness class but if you never learn how to properly engage your core, or make that mind muscle connection you will also end up with injuries.
Being in radiology,  I have seen plenty from the people in my MRI machine.

As a woman I also know that strength training is vital as you age but learning proper core and pelvic floor exercises is crucial to your well being and not just for pre/post natal women. I wish I had access to a specialty class when I was younger.
